Marriage or any other intimate relationship between two people always means going beyond one’s comfort zone, trying to understand and accept the existence of another person. It is not difficult to imagine how cultural differences in cross-national unions can complicate the situation.
Due to the increasing number of marriages between people of different cultures and with the increase of such collisions in our daily lives, we need to learn the art of mutual understanding. Marriage is a great boot camp of this new "notion". After all, culture does not only define the cuisine or music the person prefers: it also affects how we think and speak, our world view, what we love and what we hate.
To understand this difference and to make allowance for it if it is inconsistent with the ideals of another - that is the problem faced by all who enter such a relationship.
